We are looking for RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) age 55+
Shopping assistants work directly with the clients we serve assisting them with shopping for their
furniture and household items.
They play a critical role in operations helping to facilitate shopping
appointments, log items received by each family, communicate with the warehouse crew as they load
furniture and provide excellent customer service to our clients.
• Requires strong interpersonal skills – seeking patient, compassionate individuals
• Bi/weekly shifts required
• 3-4-hour shift in a warehouse environment
• Weather appropriate layers – the warehouse can get cold
• Packing water and a snack advised

The AmeriCorps RSVP is the nation's largest network for volunteers age 55 and older.
The growing segment of our older population is vital to strengthening our communities through their interest in helping others.
As an RSVP volunteer, you are strengthening the positive impact people 55 and over have in our communities.
Our focus is to incorporate meaningful volunteer opportunities that provide purpose and a way to give back to the community.
RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers as it matches their personal interests with opportunities to serve in their communities.
Current RSVP volunteer positions include local food banks, congregate meal sites, non-profit thrift stores (shopping assistants, sorters, warehouse assistant, furniture assemblers in a fully equipped build shop), reading/enrichment/tutoring/ mentorship groups, museums, and administrative positions throughout the Greater Tacoma, Puyallup, Graham, Lakewood and Gig Harbor Peninsula.
We are continually bringing on new and unique volunteer opportunities that help our community.
