ALESIS GT (Groove Tubes) AM62 Condenser Tube Microphone - American Made! The year was 1999.
The company was Groove Tubes, a hip little outfit which produced wondrous tubes (or valves as they say in Britain) and mikes.
Then, as so often happens in the corporate world, the bigger fish ate the little fish.
GT became a part of Alesis, famous for making recording equipment.
Together they decided to put out a range of high quality AMERICAN FET and tube microphones to rival the big fish.
The top of the line was the GT AM62 tuber.
It sold for $1299.

The mikes soon disappeared from sale.
Today they are rare, especially the 62.
Yet, here it is, two decades later, waiting for you to discover its magic.
I purchased this new in 1999, and it is still in MINT condition.
