Position Summary Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) Therapists will provide mental health intervention to support children and their families from birth to three years old.
IECMH therapists utilize evidence-based practices to support attachment-related concerns, impacts of trauma, and social-emotional delays as appropriate.
Mental Health services are provided in the child's natural environment which may be the home or community setting within the child's family system.
IECMH therapists will work as a member of the larger Early Intervention team to support children from a whole child/whole family perspective with a focus on the integration of both physical and mental health services to support each unique child.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide services in families' homes Provide services in childcare facilities Provide services in a variety of community settings throughout Pierce County Meet regularly with parents and caregivers Provide developmentally appropriate therapeutic intervention Work directly with the child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) Coordinate closely with the child's Family Resources Coordinator Coordinate with Early Intervention team Coordinate with any additional community medical and therapeutic professionals Required Qualifications Current License with the WA State Department of Health in good standing Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field Experience in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health highly desirable Strong knowledge of child development within a relational context Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team Imagination and creativity Must possess a positive attitude and friendly manner with strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and professionals Intermediate level of computer skills: application knowledge in Word, Excel, Google Calendar, Docs, and Mail First Aid and CPR certification Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License, automobile for on-the-job use, and proof of current automobile insurance Must pass state and national background check Job Conditions All mental health services are provided in the child and family's natural environment, which is typically in the child's home, community, and/or telehealth.
Services may also be provided in an agency clinical setting, as appropriate.
Work that is related to, but not in direct contact with clients, is conducted in a HopeSparks office and or other location, as appropriate.
Ability to observe and assess movement and behavior at mid and close range for evaluation and treatment planning Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel to type for prolonged periods (1-2 hours) daily while completing administrative tasks Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting/standing) for prolonged periods (1-2 hours) daily while working at computer Ability to use close vision (8 hours) daily for computer work, cellphone operation, driving and client interactions Ability to use distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus for (8 hours) daily to be able to drive to and interact with clients.
Ability to lift items weighing 15-20 pounds (laptop, teaching aids, etc.
) Ability to ascend and descend stairs to access clients' homes Ability to engage with children while safely standing, traversing uneven ground, and sitting on the floor/ground for extended periods of time (4-5 hours) daily Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing working environment Ability to multitask on multiple projects at one time Ability to relate to multiple audiences (families, children, mental health professionals, etc.
