Madigan Army Medical Center is seeking Perioperative RNs to join our growing team!
The facility is one of four Level II Trauma Centers in Washington State and participates in unique partnerships with civilian facilities to provide care to non-beneficiary trauma victims beyond the gates of Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Responsibilities:
Perform pre-operative, intraoperative and post-operative patient care.
Set up, operate, and monitor specialized medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, oxygen delivery systems, arterial lines, chest tubes, defibrillators, pneumatic and electrical drills/saw, prevaccum flash sterilizers, electro cautery units
Utilize the perioperative nursing process to formulate patient care plans.
Coordinate with patients and family members regarding disease processes and provides emotional support, as needed.
May be assigned as charge nurse of a particular shift and will assume the responsibility for promoting quality, cost-effective nursing care within the framework of the philosophy and mission objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Basic Requirement for Nurse (Clinical/Perioperative) / Nurse (Perioperative):
Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.
S.
Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
Foreign Degree: A degree from a Foreign Nursing School.
Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Education/Experience: At least one full year of professional nursing experience which includes providing comprehensive nursing care to intraoperative patients, assessing pre-operative or post-operative patients, and educating patients or staff.
OR
Education: A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
