Pacific Power Group is now hiring for a Senior Project Cost Account for our Power Systems division in Kent, WA.
Job Overview: This role is responsible for liaising with Product Sales Project Managers and Accounting/Finance to precisely track and forecast project costing, pricing, and commissioning, as well as invoice customers, create and manage purchase orders, apply down payments, issue progress billing statements, and manage invoice entry into customer payment portals.
To be successful in this role you must be able to multitask, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, keep all projects organized and oversee all aspects of the job.
This position is an integral part of the sales team, ensuring timely fulfilment and delivery of PPG’s product sales projects.

Requirements: Primary (Essential) Duties: Precisely track, enter, and maintain project costing within Enterprise systems.
Plan and record variable costs (e.
g.
purchases of material and operations costs) Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
Analyze and report profit margins Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) forecasts Assist in month-end and year-end reconciliation of on-going costing/commissioning Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions Accurate and comprehensive costing review of each project including: invoicing, capturing deliverables, and commissioning reserves Enter sales orders, purchase orders, reman and startup repair orders, and invoices Assist project managers in tracking project timelines and budgets Execute invoicing, down payments, and progress billing Work with credit department to establish customer accounts Interface with vendors, customers, and freight carriers Manage information flow Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures Computer literacy, Microsoft Suite, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables; proficiency test will be required) Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail Strong time-management skills Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information Strong written/verbal/phone communication Able to integrate information from multiple software programs Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and remain focused while maintaining a high level of workmanship Strong organizational skills Critical thinking and problem solving skills Influence and negotiation skills Experience/Education Requirements: Associate degree required; BA in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred- or equivalent level of experience Experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, project coordinator, or similar roles a plus (3 yrs minimum) Other Requirements (travel, schedule, own tools, company car, etc.
) <5% overnight travel required to other branch locations for training, etc.
