*Position Summary*
The *Senior Accounting Clerk *is responsible for reviewing, entering, coding, and validating financial transactions, reconciling multiple data sources and preparing reports for management review.
This is an office-based role located at our regional office and manufacturing complex in Tacoma, WA.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
* This role is responsible for invoicing customers daily, reviewing shipping documents and proofs of delivery, and distributing invoices to customers through the appropriate channels.
* Ensure orders are invoiced in a timely manner as soon as criteria for revenue recognition is satisfied.
* Understand and apply rigorous internal control structure to all invoicing transactions.
* Processes invoices in an accurate and timely manner which enables the generation of the Stella-Jones monthly and yearly financial statements.
* Proactively engage with transportation and sales personnel for documents and status updates on shipments for timely invoicing
* Ensures customer invoicing is consistent with specific customer requirements and agreements.
* Process approved credit memos
* Special tasks as assigned and participate in projects as needed.
* Participates and contributes to company safety program
*Qualifications*
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).
* High attention to detail while working with data across different platforms.
* Accounting or Invoicing experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred
* Consistently demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrates ability to resolve and/or escalate conflict using tact and diplomacy.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality surrounding sensitive customer or company information.
* Actively participates and collaborates with others on one’s own team and across Stella-Jones for the achievement of business goals
* Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work.
