*Qualifications:*
· Be at least eighteen (18) years old or older
· Have a high school diploma or equivalent
· Hold an ECE state initial certificate or equivalent (or) an approved career path objective
· Complete the applicable preservice requirements, pursuant to *WAC 110-300-0105*; renew an update annually as required
· Participate in yearly continued professional development and maintain documentation
· Register with MERIT
· Must understand and be familiar with the Washington Administrative Code (WAC)
· Must have strong communication skill, both written and verbal
· Ability to lift in excess of twenty (20) lbs.
· Ability to pass state and federal background check
· Valid Driver’s License
· MUST BE COVID-19 VACCINATED and have proof of vaccinations
*Requirements:*
· Completed application
· Completed Criminal Background check
· 3 personal references
· Complete 30 Hours Basic STARS within the first 90 days of employment, and follow the STARS requirements from that point on
*Responsibilities & Duties*
· Manage classroom by keeping proper records, daily attendance, accident reports, meal charts, daily reports, and task charts
· Take part in all trainings provided by the center
· Plan, supervise and implement an age-appropriate program using the themes and curriculum provided by the center
· Help the children participate in self-service of all meals and snacks
· Serve meals and document by following the guidelines of the USDA Food Program
· Utilize dump buckets at meal- time, not trash cans
· Perform housekeeping duties as needed, to keep your classroom fresh and in compliance with sanitation practices
· Maintain an orderly and tidy classroom environment
· Submit supply orders in a timely manner
· Be personally responsible for supervision and direction of aides working in your classroom
· Be sensitive to the needs of the children and other staff members by strictly adhering to our policy on confidentiality
· Keep all classroom bulletin boards, updated and attractive
· Keep the Parent Board informational and include classroom schedules, curriculum, staff schedules and current events
· Respect and protect property and materials of Spring Glen and those working with you
· Attend all professional development training as scheduled
· Develop positive and professional relationships with parents
· Greet parents and visitors warmly, maintain regular contact with families in a courteous, professional manner
· Follow all safety guidelines
· Must be available to work the last two weeks of August and the first two weeks of September in support of back-to-school
· It may be necessary to lift in excess of 20 lbs.
